Event Description

This is a night for the people who love Longboat Key. Three local restaurants -- Harry's Continental Kitchens, The Lazy Lobster, and Lo' Key Island Grille. Small bites and a paired drink at every stop. An outdoor evening with great neighbors, a cold glass in hand, and the sound of the Gulf Coast in the background.

The Longboat Key Turtle Crawl raises funds for Longboat Key Turtle Watch, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that has been protecting sea turtles on our beaches since 1969. Every ticket goes toward the people who walk the sand at dawn so the turtles can keep coming home.

SHELL OUT FOR A GREAT CAUSE

Close-up of a chessboard with black and white pieces in play.

Longboat Key Turtle Watch has been walking the beaches of Longboat Key since 1969 -- watching for nests, protecting hatchlings, and educating the community about the sea turtles that call our shores home. Founded by a handful of dedicated locals who covered the entire island that first year and found 9 nests (all of which hatched), the organization has grown into one of the oldest continuously active sea turtle conservation groups in Florida.

Today, Longboat Key Turtle Watch is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization permitted with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission under Mote Marine Laboratory. They monitor sea turtle nesting and hatching on the Manatee County portion of Longboat Key, run volunteer and education programs, and continue the quiet, essential work of protecting a species that depends on our care.

A portion of every ticket sold, along with proceeds from sponsorships and the event raffle, goes directly to support their mission.
